Partial Payment Flow (Cart Flow)

With Depo, you can collect deposit payments (X% of the product price, or any fixed value Y), for the orders placed by your customers on the online store.
For the remaining balance, you can send your customers an invoice, from the Orders section in Depo and have them pay the remaining amount later, through the Invoice.

Note: (Cart Flow - Redirects to the cart page in Shopify)

Set-up:

To set this up correctly, follow the below mentioned steps:

Head over to Depo > Plans and settings > Store Settings > Store Flow > Select 'Cart' > Save.
Head over to Depo > Add Product > Manage > Add Payment Option > Select the Deposit Amount(X% or Y) > Confirm and you will be all set with Deposit.
By default, the Full Payment option is enabled; however, if you just want your customers to pay a deposit upfront and rest of the amount later, you can disable the Full payment option by clicking on the check-box for the same and you will be good to go.

Remaining Balance Charge:

To charge the pending payment, you would need to head over to Depo > Orders > Manage Order > Charge Pending Payment > Send Invoice and an invoice would be sent to the customer, using which they can pay the remaining balance.

Question 2

The deposit option doesn't show up in the store? What should i do?

Depo let's you take deposit in your store. In general the deposit option show up either on the product page or on the cart page. Please check either of the option to see if it's working or not. If you have checked both the places then it could be due to the most frequent reasons that are as follows :-

Reason 1: The Depo app widget is not activated.

Please follow the steps to enable the widget

Online Store > Customize > Theme Settings > App Embed and turn on Depo?

Reason 2: You have selected the All Products option but you are checking on the product page

The all products option shows the payment options only on the cart page. Please check the cart page to see if it's showing or not

Reason 3: You have a cart slider and have chosen the All Products option

Generally Depo supports cart slider but there could be a scenario where the app is not able to add to the cart slider. Contact our support and they should be able to help you to add the options in the cart slider

Reason 4: You have multiple checkout button on the cart page

Some stores have multiple checkout button on the cart page. It's ideal to have only one Checkout button since the options can only be added to one of them. Please remove on checkout button and you should see it working fine

Reason 5: The app is not able to find the Add to Cart or Checkout button

Depo Instalment Payments

We are excited to announce our new payment plan feature which will allow you to create installment plans for your customers and charge their card automatically based on the instalment configuration.

You can set this up by heading over to Depo > Subscriptions > Create Subscription - a screen should then show up which would ask you to configure the plan.

On the screen that shows up, you can configure the plan, by entering the number of months the plan should run for, the first payment, the other installment payment amount and then click on Save subscription

Question 4

Deposits on Draft Orders (Draft Order Flow)

Depo can also help you with taking deposits on draft orders which are created through Admin, wherein, you can simply take deposits by adding the 'depo' tag to any draft order that you are creating, or for existing draft orders in your store.

||| IMPORTANT Note for Draft Order Flow:
||| 1. The tag 'depo' should be added to the order.
||| 2. The draft order should be created against a customer profile.

How it works:

Create a Draft Order as usual and then add a customer to it. After that add the tag depo, the order will start showing up in the Depo app in a few minutes.

Now you can just head over to Depo > Orders > Manage Order > Send Invoice(adjust the amount to Deposit Amount) and from here you can decide the initial Deposit amount that you want to charge the customers.

After the initial payment is received, based on your store's charge policy, you can again head over to Depo > Orders > Manage Order > Charge Pending Payment > Send Invoice and you will be able to send an invoice to collect the remaining payment as well.

Depo Automated Partial Payment

Our Deposit app can help you take Automated Partial Payment for the use-case where you want to take X% deposit now and Y% later - also in this case the remaining balance payment would be charged automatically.

You can set this up in two steps, by heading over to:

Depo > Partial Payments > Store Flow > Select 'Automated Partial Payment Flow' > Save.

Then you head over to Depo > Partial Payments > Manage and you can setup the deposit configuration for individual products.

Currently, the setting could only be set up for specific product(and also the Deposit options shows up on the product page) and cannot be set up to work for all products(On order level, in the cart page) which is why it will only show up for products.

With Depo, there are multiple ways on how you can take partial payments for your store, based on your requirements.

Explaining the flows below, one by one:

Partial Payment Flow(Manual Flow) - specific products: With Depo, you can collect deposit payments (X% of the product price, or any fixed value Y), for the orders placed by your customers on the online store.
For the remaining balance, you can send your customers an invoice, from the Orders section in Depo and have them pay the remaining amount later, through the Invoice.
Deposits on all products (Full checkout flow) - all products, works on order level: With Depo, you can also charge Deposits on your online store, on the order level, where the payment options show up on the cart page, regardless of the items added to the cart.

Also, the Deposit amount in this case, is based on the total order value of the items added in the cart and not for any specific products.
